Kody's first experience of stand up paddling came with half a kayak paddle and a soft top from the Buzzy Kerbox Surf School at Maliko Gulch in 2005.


4 years later he paddle 32 miles from Molokai to Oahu with relay partner Zane Schweitzer.


By 2011 he was Rookie of the Year on the Stand up paddle world tour and found himself ranked among the best paddle surfers in the world.


Kody would go on to spend the next 5 years of his life dedicated to competing for world titles in both the stand up paddle surfing and racing disciplines. In 2013 he finished the year runner up to Kai Lenny for the Waterman Leagues overall world title. Deep into 2014 Kody would take off on a wave in Tahiti that would change the direction of his life forever.
